Two
rescue dogs from SDAH in Wotton Bassett, Wiltshire with another
shaggy haired old mutt called Charlie started to
walk the South west coast path in September/October 2007.
They managed
to complete approximately 100 miles of the 630 mile route in ten
days. They enjoyed the walk so much that they are planning to continue
walking the path in stages. The next stage will take place in late
May 2008. Actual date to be confirmed shortly.

The Three Mutt’s are
Benji
a smooth coated Boarder collie who was adopted from SDAH at around
fifteen months old, he is now a three and a half.
Sindar is a small black Labrador/cross who was
adopted from SDAH in December 2006 at twelve weeks old. She likes
her home comforts but also loves adventures and will walk all day
long as long as she has got a warm bed at the end of it.

The
shaggy haired old mutt Charlie a local carpenter
and builder who’s had lots of rescue dogs over the years.
He decided that after a successful walk of the first section of
the South west coast path in September/October 2007 that he would
like to raise some sponsorship for the rest of the coastal path
walk for SDAH as a thank you for bringing the three of them together. |

The
walk starts from Studland bay (poole) in Dorset,
it continues through Dorset, Devon then into Cornwall,
round Lands End and then up on to Minehead in Somerset. The total
mileage of the walk is 630 miles.
The three mutt’s walked about 100 miles from Studland Bay
to Budleigh Salterton in nine days of walking in late September/early
October 2007.
The next section will be from Budleigh Salterton in South Devon
and will be at least 10 to 14 days of walking and hopping on to
ferries to cross the various rivers in South Devon/Cornwall. We
hope to get to Looe or Fowey in Cornwall in this time but is all
dependent on our 10 feet. |

The
other sections will be walked in
September/October
2008
April 2009 and

The mutt’s backpacks.
Benji and Sindar only carry their own food, snacks and water when
necessary in their backpacks. They are not as heavy or bulky as
they look in the photographs. |
If
you would like to Sponser Benji, Sindar & Charlie
please support them on their walk and help other homeless
pets find loving homes. Thankyou
